Junie B. Jones & the Stupid Smelly Bus Tour!

We met Junie B. Jones today and it was a wonderful-delight! My son had a writing workshop today at the library and on my way back from my walk with Chloe in downtown Decatur we saw the BUS! This wonderful, pink-bubble gum colored bus! We stopped in our tracks as the bus parallel parked in front of the library. I think I was more excited than Chloe...LOL. I love a FREEBIE and this was a free event. We ran down the stairs to get in line and wait for the interactive story-time by Junie B. herself and Mr. Woo-the bus driver. The girl that portrayed Junie B. was just as energetic as the character in the book. After the performance, we met the actors and  Chloe took pictures and got her book stamped. We all had a great time! What freebies does your local library sponsor during the summer?

I am so excited to link up with Oh'Boy 4th Grade  to share my "currently" and thanks Lorena @ Little Treasures for the invite!  I am so enjoy listening to the cars go by outside my window.I know that this can be a distraction for most  people... I watch House Hunters, but  it has become soothing to me. I am loving  being home with my family. My children are use to me being a stay-at-home mom and so when I took the position as a kindergarten teacher; my household had a lot of adjusting to do when I decided to go back to work. I had a lot of adjusting to do... having to be in my class and ready by 7:20 getting home at after 5 or even 7 depending on my day was overwhelming. Okay...I am a bit of a work-alcoholic! OMG! I am  thinking that the more I organize- the more I need to organize. I love organizing and having everything in their own special place. However, that doesn't always work with a husband, two kids and dog, which leads me to wanting a new house that has another bathroom and stairs and one more room. 

I love stairs...I can see myself gliding down them now in my long white-silk..okay, I carried away. Yeah, I need a new house because I don't want to hear you or your television in the next room...LOL I am needing to really finalize my wonderful son's birthday plans. He's turning 16 and I am happy-sad-scared-all emotions, but I already  posted that. Now let's PARTY! Okay, he's not the partying type of guy well that's what he tells me. (I'll ask the same question when he turns 21.) Peachie-Question: Would it be wrong for me to throw him a surprise party even though he didn't ask for one? I would love to get party suggestions! I was thinking about just having a dinner with his family and close friends. Next, the essentials  for vacations are books for the whole family. My kids grab their books every time they leave the house. I have to take laughter on my vacation  laughter is good all the time and much needed even when things seem grim. I can't forget my camera to capture all of my vacation  memories. If you can't go away on vacation take time for yourself and spend plenty of time with your family & friends or you will burn out before fall break.

Hitting the Pavement!

It's 10:36 a.m. 11:08 a.m. and I am getting ready to go running...okay a light jog just to get me back into the swing of things. I don't want to rush  it :) I am also working on some freebies, but that's another post. What are you checking off today on your summer bucket list?  Keep it Peachie!

Organizational Find @ Dollar Tree

It's the end of the day and I am so sleepy, but

 I couldn't go to bed until I shared with you the cutest containers I found at Dollar Tree. 

 Chloe chose her favorite one! 

I have to have an organized desk. I don't like my writing & drawing tools sticking out so I thought that these would be too awesome for my desk! I think that I am going to buy four more for each of  my tables so that it can hold all of my students pencils, crayons, scissors and markers....okay five-I forgot about the glue-sticks!       

 A little F.Y.I for your D.I.Y 

 Thank yous go along way! I made bought these cards from Micheal's,but they were not cute enough and I wanted to add our school color, well at least one of them. I found Martha Stewart's  decorate tape and used it to brighten up these plain, but classic thank you cards.   

Summer Bucket List Linky!

Summer is a great time to rejuvenate ourselves! In the summer teachers find ways to relax, spend time with their family and friends, think about how to do things better or differently the next school year and so forth. I am  so excited about linking up with these wonderful teachers to share my "to-do's" for the summer.

                                                      (1) Summer Reading 

I have slacked on my reading and I can't take another moment of not being able to find a quite Starbucks to curl up in to sip on my white-chocolate latte and read. I can hear the pages crackle as they turn and that new book smell beats a Kindle and Nook any day! 

(2) Get to Running! 

When I started teaching kindergarten during the last months of the school year, I found it very hard  for me to keep up with my daily running in the mornings. Unfortunately, the daily snacks and the teacher appreciation week that went on like a family reunion has left me with unwanted pounds and inches. 

(3) Keeping Everything Peachie 

I know that I haven't been blogging as much...sometimes I do get discouraged when I only see two followers...Thanks for the encouragement!!! Then I think about well, what do teachers want to read about-anything and all things teacher-related, fun related, make our lives better related, etc. and so that it my summer job to become a better blogger, Facebooker ( If that's a word...LOL), TPTer...and anything else that I can do to contribute to the life a teacher.   

(3) HAVE FUN! 

My son is 16 years old  and my daughter is 8 years old daughter. My son will soon be off to college and my daughter a tween. I am going to try and spend every minute I can with them. The days are going by so fast and my children seem to be growing up even faster. We have all been reminded during these past months of how precious life is and that we must be grateful for every single moment.
